Luis was born in Havana, Cuba and started his career as the photographer
for the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, Teatro Musical de La Havana, and the
Ministry of Culture for Cuba.After moving to Spain he joined The Image Bank agency and freelanced
with most Spanish publications and several Government Agencies, like the
Ministry of Tourism and the Madrid City Hall.Castaneda's work has received numerous awards and recognition (Master of
the Leica in 1993) from all over the world. In 1998 he was invited to
join Panasonic, Minox and Hasselblad to use his photographs to
illustrate their publications and advertise their products.
He has also written for numerous publications and his work is
represented by several prestigious Stock Agencies in the world, like The
Image Bank (USA), The Imageproshop (Italy), Alamy (U.K.), Chinapix
(P.R. of China) and Pix Gallery (Sweden).
