Flat Screen Tv

A flat screen TV provides sharp images and vibrant colours. It is a high definition alternative to the standard cathode ray televisions. There are two types of flat screen TV to select from; Plasma and LCD. Plasma TVs work by lighting up thousands of tiny fluorescent lights to create an image, whereas LCD TVs function like the screen of your laptop. LCD is a thin flat display device made up of a number of monochrome pixels arrayed in front of a light source. Plasma displays generally have a brightness of 1000 lux or higher. They have a wide colour gamut, and can be produced in fairly large sizes, up to 262 cm (103 inches) diagonally. The display panel is only about 6 cm (2Ω inches) thick, while the total thickness that includes electronics is less than 10 cm (4 inches). Plasma displays use as much power per square meter. A large number of flat screen televisions have a variety of inputs that allows them to be connected to a majority of equipment, such as VCRs, TV tuners, computers, DVD players, etc.
